ÒPLATT, Charles, M. D., Ph.D., F. C.  S.:

Physician: born in Montclair, N. J., March 16, 1869, of an old American family of founders and patriots, dating from 1638: was graduated from Lehigh University in 1890, and has pursued post-graduate course at Ohio University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Edinburgh (medalist in anatomy) . Homeopathic Hospital, London, Ecole de Medicine, Paris, and Hahnemann College of Philadelphia. Assistant chemist of Cambria Iron Company, Johnstown, Pa.; chief chemist for Thomas A. Edison at Llewellyn Park laboratory. Since 1894 Professor of Chemistry and Toxicology at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital, Philadelphia; sometime lecturer at the Children's Homeopathic Hospital, Philadelphia. For some time associate editor of Science, New York. Author of text book of "Qualitative Analysis and Medical Chemistry," fourth edition. 1903. Contributor to the engineering, chemical and medical journals. Fellow of the Chemical Society of London: honorary Fellow of the Society of Biological Chemistry, London; member of the American Chemical Society, the SociŽtŽ Chimique de Paris, the Medical Jurisprudence Society, the Medical and Surgical Society of Philadelphia, and of numerous other medical and social organizations.
